When Wilhelm Malte, the
Prince of Putbus started to attract the first
bathers to Rügen at the beginning of the 19th
century, a comfortable arrival became an
important question. When the “Kronprinzessin
Elisabeth” (launched 1826) carried first bathers
from Swinemünde to Lauterbach on 9th August
1828, another significant step was therefore
achieved in the development of the tourism
industry in Pommern.
Braeunlich ordered the “Dievenov” from the
“Früchtenicht
& Brock” company, the future famous "Vulkan
Company"
of Stettin.
The “Princes Royal Victoria”, the 2nd Braeunlich
ship was
named after the wife of the “99-day Emperor”,
Friedrich III. (printed
with permission of maritime museum of Rostock).
The “Misdroy”, the third Braeunlich ship,
costructed by the "Vulkan Company" of Stettin
in 1859.
